Day 5 | Friday

The week at Davos flew by. So many topics talks and people that are looking future forward. Great serendipity and fantastic connections made

Today will be short but nevertheless a few must-sees, especially the future-looking topics. Check the official programme, and view your session of choice on the Davos live stream. The “what to know for day 5” by WEF can be found here.

We’re catching up on our messages and socials today and relive the highlights soon. We’ll try to get them to your inbox summarized coming week, as more press is being curious and interviewing us. Sign up for the newsletter to receive a summary and highlights later:

As Børge Brende (CEO World Economic Forum) said in his closing remarks: “We all realized this week at a time of immense consequences and uncertainty that everything is shifting under our feet. The clock is ticking to meet critical priorities: driving economic growth, reducing carbon emissions, finding ways to end conflict…”. We might need to adapt our practices: we need to be innovative and creative and work together. Even when nations compete, there is overlap in interests, and that is where we can make the world a better place.

Day 4 | Thursday

Officially the most busy day for D-CRBN at the #WEF25. We’re invited to give our thoughts on decarbonisation in the studio interviews

Later we’re presenting at the Uplink session: “unlocking scale through collaboration towards 2030”. Looking forward to the closing receptions to further learn from others what they’ve heard and seen.

Day 3 | Wednesday

Today we’re on the big stage, very much looking forward to be part of the panel for the “Open Forum: Powering Progress” (recording available). It’s a smart and diverse panel of speakers on stage to discuss “how the energy transition can be leveraged to overcome obstacles and ensure equitable energy access for all”.

Update: The word economic forum published a short video summary of my part here:

(*in the full video our panel starts at 11:47 after the interactive session.)

Day 2 | Tuesday

Today is packed full of sessions. We'll be facilitating ourselves in a unique CCU viability and technology workshop. Short summary for those who could not attend, as this was not recorded:

Many industries can shift to low-carbon alternatives, but some sectors such as fuels, chemicals, plastics,… face challenges in full decarbonization. These industries are now embracing carbon capture and utilization (CCU) technologies to capture & convert CO2 into valuable products.

The economics are immense: a $4.4 trillion opportunity for sustainable economic growth by preventing up to 27 gigatonnes of emissions annually by 2050. All this while advancing climate action.

After the session, we released our industry white-papers on the topic to estimate the potential for each. We’re crunching the numbers on the steel industry.

We'll cover the most interesting bits and bites of the day below as they happen from the first row for you.
